Needs instructions on how to hook up ethernet grounding

Hi Shaun we spoke a few weeks ago and we purchased a grey shielded ethernet cord, a green grounding cord, and an apple thunderbolt adapter and we still cant figure out how to hook them all together and into a MacBook. can you give me specific instructions on what goes where and what connects to what. having a really hard time understanding.
