How to ground an entire ethernet network despite its limits?

Hi, if I used an ethernet grounding adapter starting from either modem or main router, how many devices connected to the main router and other devices connected to those can be grounded? Once that limit is reached, how and when should I install a second or third ethernet grounding adapter to ensure my entire ethernet network is grounded? Please let me know. Thanks.

That is a fair question.  It is not something we have tested to see the "limits" of so to speak.  In theory there shouldn't be a limit, but for extremely long runs you could certainly ground at the other end.  If you were to ground at the other end, you must use one of our Ethernet Ground Loop Isolators.  Because you do NOT want to ground a shielded, groundable Ethernet cable at both ends.  This would make a ground LOOP and be very undesirable!!

I guess if it were me perhaps greater than 100 feet I would do this.  But I'm just pulling that number out - it is not based on actual testing.

Hi Shaun,

Thank you for getting back with me. The only question I have left based on what you said is where should I plug the ground loop isolator? Beginning, middle or the end of my wired network? Let's say I'm having a maximum of 8 switches connected to router (4 daisy chained and 4 separate switches). Where should I plug the ground loop isolator from there?
